A charming city 30 miles northwest of Houston, Cypress offers small-city living close to big-city attractions. Home to the Northwest Forest Conference Center, an 80-acre resort and conference center with a life-size replica of the Alamo, Cypress also features The Berry Center complex, which features a football stadium, basketball arena, conference center, auditorium, multimedia production, and catering facility.
Cypress is also home to the trailhead of the planned Cypress Creek Greenway Project, a major parks project which will link anchor parks along the entirety of Cypress Creek via a greenbelt, complete with hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, canoeing and other attractions for outdoor and nature enthusiasts.
Village in the Woods is a quiet community tucked away in the Lakewood Forest neighborhood, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Houston, with easy access to Highway 290 and Route 249. Public transportation is provided by Metro (www.ridemetro.org).
We are in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD School District (www.cfisd.net, Phone: (281) 897-4000). Local public schools are Moore Elementary, Hamilton Middle School and Cypress Creek High School. Nearby universities include the University of Houston, Houston Baptist University, St. Thomas University and the University of Texas.
